Mia Avina

(she/her)

Somatic Therapist for Women in Westmont, IL

Stress, Anxiety, Burnout Support

Mia provides integrative, holistic somatic therapy for women navigating anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, relationship patterns, and nervous system dysregulation. She is especially passionate about supporting ambitious, emotionally intelligent women who appear successful on the outside but feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected internally.

Many of the women Mia works with are tired of “just coping” and are ready to feel safe, grounded, and fully connected to themselves again. Her approach is warm, grounded, and deeply attuned. She creates an emotionally safe space where clients can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and move beyond overthinking into deeper healing and embodiment. Sessions are both spacious and structured, often incorporating nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, emotional processing, breathwork, movement, attachment healing, and practical integration tools that support lasting change.

Mia believes that many emotional and physical symptoms stem from chronic nervous system dysregulation, emotional suppression, attachment wounds, and living in survival mode for too long. Through a somatic and nervous system-informed approach, she helps clients gently release stored stress and survival patterns while building greater internal safety, self trust, and emotional resilience.

Clients often come to Mia feeling anxious, hypervigilant, emotionally disconnected, or stuck in patterns of over functioning and self abandonment and leave feeling more regulated, clear, supported, and connected to themselves. Her work supports healing from chronic stress, relationship insecurity, emotional overwhelm, and stress related physical symptoms while helping clients create healthier, more balanced lives and relationships.

Drawing from both professional training and personal experience, including healing from chronic illness, grief, emotional self abandonment, and attachment challenges, Mia brings deep empathy and authenticity to her work. Her own journey taught her the importance of balancing ambition with embodiment and creating safety from the inside out.

Mia is known for being grounded, safe, and deeply insightful. She believes healing happens through emotional safety, body awareness, and sustainable transformation that honors the wisdom of the nervous system and allows women to move from surviving into a softer, more connected way of living.

She offers in person and virtual somatic therapy for women in Downers Grove, Westmont, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, and the surrounding Chicago suburbs.
